I have three kids, 5, 7 and 10.. All boys. I tried and tried and tried to get them to do chores around the house. Nothing too excruciating, just basic roofing, masonry, and electrical. I couldnt even get them to pressure wash the drive way or clean the gutters.
But now thanks to "Uncle Charlie" the kids will do chores lickity split. After the first initial visit, all I have to do is subtley remind them how much "Uncle Charlie" likes a dirty cluttered home.
Before "Uncle Charlie" showed up, I would intentionally put on Texas Chainsaw Massacre immediately after bedtime. Obviously, they would rituallistically get out of bed saying they needed water or had to pee or something typical like that and sure enough they'd accidently stumble upon me watching a "grownup movie". After about five weeks of this, I then began to drop stories and remarks about "Uncle Charlie." How he'd just gotten out of the special hospital and was wandering around the woods at night looking for unkempt...
